SOCARs Projects

During Easter break I've coded another small, but starting to be quite popular project, called Wykopomat (www.wykopomat.pl). Wykopomat is a "support" tool for Wykop.pl, Polish project allowing users to add interesting content and rate it, with idea similar to this on digg.com . Wykop.pl have introduced in it's new version. with idea of "groups of interest", allowing users to choose from variety of groups on diffrent subjects. Reading them thru website is quite convinient, but people who read wykop.pl thru RSS were forced to create separate threads in their RSS readers for separate groups.

Wykopomat.pl objective is to fix this gap, allowing user to dymanically generate cumulative RSS feed, agregating content from RSS channels of selected groups, sorting them on timeline and removing duplicates. Wykopomat received warm acceptance from community and congratulations from Wykop.pl group, for which I am very glad.

Wykopomat is probably last non-commercial and free project developed using PHP, as I plan to move on to ASP.NET

After developing WinNitro I decided to take some time off from developing another thing and read some books and do some of "W.O.T" Projects

WOT is acronym from Waste Of Time projects, but they kind fun to me... One of such events are shown on video below :)

I've finished developing, testing and releasing my new tool, which is targeted to speed up work on computer: WinNitro. WinNitro allow to speed up application on which user is currently working on by reassigning priority to the processor time management by dynamically analyzing which application is focused. New version of simple tool that allows user to sort files and folder in selectd directory by creating for each file a folder (and #Folders# for any other folders in this directory), based on file extension, and moving file to that folder. Application got also ability to extend Microsoft Windows Explorer Shell with a context menu shortcut starting application with selected catalog path. Also this snippet tool was promoted to project status.

New features in 2.x versions:

• Sort folders by moving them to #Folder# catalog
• Skip program folders (which name starts with dot or #)
• New options in file moving (allow to overwrite or rename while moving/sorting)
• New main window, with much more informations about sorting process
• Column sorting
